The Pelican Clinic

About The Clinic

The Pelican Clinic deliver private face to face psychiatric assessment and treatment for under 18s in Cornwall and Devon. We work in collaboration with other independent and NHS providers to ensure a holistic multidisciplinary approach to the care of our patients.

We currently run face to face clinics from the Bodmin Community Hospital, Hayle and Launceston. We also offer online appointments upon request. In exceptional circumstances- and at additional cost- we can arrange a home visit (but availability for this service is limited).

How can we help?

Services that we offer

Psychiatric Assessment +\- treatment

This involves the use of pre-assessment diagnostic and background questionnaires, a 90 minute appointment with a Consultant Psychiatrist and the writing of a comprehensive psychiatric report with treatment recommendations tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

ADHD Assessment

This involves pre assessments questionnaires and diagnostic tools being completed by a representative from the child’s school, their parents and the child themself, followed by a 2 hour diagnostic and feedback session with a Consultant Psychiatrist.

ADHD Medication

We run an ADHD titration service and where there is agreement with your GP, are happy to see patients under a shared care arrangement.

Conditions We Cannot Treat:

Due to the level of monitoring required, our service is not able to provide treatment for the following conditions:

  • Psychosis

  • Schizophrenia

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Severe eating disorders

  • High-risk self-harm

  • Suicidal intent

  • Personality disorders

  • Acute mental health crises requiring urgent intervention

If these conditions are identified during assessment, we will help refer patients to the most appropriate specialist services.
